HMV NHS Discount: Student Discount, Free Delivery and Multibuy Deals

If you’re an NHS worker hoping to save at HMV, it’s worth knowing that the retailer doesn’t currently have a dedicated NHS discount scheme in place. The good news is there are still several ways to pay less, from student discounts and free delivery to regular multibuy deals and seasonal sales.

Ways to save at HMV without an NHS discount

HMV has plenty of deals on music, films, gaming and pop culture merchandise, but healthcare workers won’t find a specific staff discount waiting for them at checkout.

That doesn’t mean you have to pay full price, though. HMV regularly offers seasonal sales, multibuy deals and limited-time promo codes that are open to everyone. Signing up to the HMV newsletter often gives subscribers early access to upcoming offers before they’re widely advertised.

Blue Light Card discount at HMV

HMV doesn’t currently partner with Blue Light Card, so members won’t find an exclusive code through that route. If you do hold a Blue Light Card, our Blue Light Card guide covers how the scheme works and the kinds of brands that do take part.

For HMV itself, your best bet is to bookmark its website and keep an eye on its email offers, where publicly available promotions and sale events are regularly posted.

Student discount

If you’re a student, HMV’s partnership with Student Beans is worth knowing about. Once you’ve verified your student status through the platform, you’ll unlock a discount across a range of products including music, films, games and merchandise. The exact rate and eligible items can change, and some exclusions apply, so check the current terms when you verify. It’s also worth checking whether a current HMV discount code can be stacked at checkout, as combining the two can sometimes bring your total down further.

Free delivery

HMV offers free standard home delivery on UK orders over £20, which makes it easy to skip the postage costs on most purchases. Orders below that threshold are charged a standard delivery fee. Just check the terms before you order, as some items may only be available through click and collect rather than standard home delivery.

Multibuy deals

HMV frequently runs multibuy promotions across its catalogue, and these can offer genuine value if you’re looking to pick up a few things at once. Past deals have included options like two DVDs for £8, two Blu-rays for £10 or two UHDs for £20. You can browse what’s currently available in the multibuy section of the HMV website, or by visiting its offers page directly for a full overview.

Newsletter sign-up

Signing up to the HMV newsletter is one of the simplest ways to stay ahead of upcoming deals. Subscribers tend to hear about sales before they go live, and HMV occasionally sends exclusive discount codes to its mailing list that aren’t available anywhere else. If you’re a regular shopper, it’s a low-effort way to make sure you’re not missing out.
