Editorial Policy

Last updated: May 2026

At NHS Discount Offers, we believe you deserve to know exactly how we find, check, and publish the deals on this website. This editorial policy sets out our standards for sourcing discounts, verifying codes, handling commercial relationships, and keeping our content accurate and up to date.

We have been helping NHS staff, healthcare workers, and their families save money since 2015. Everything on this site is produced by a small, dedicated team based in Swansea, South Wales. Our goal is simple: to save you money without wasting your time.

Who produces our content

All deal pages, guides, and articles on NHS Discount Offers are written and maintained by our in-house editorial team. We do not publish deals we have not reviewed ourselves, and every page is written by a named member of staff.

Our team members each have individual author profiles, which you can find at the bottom of every article they write. Each profile includes a short biography, professional background, and contact information so you always know who is behind the content you are reading.

Our editorial team is led by Steve Jones and includes Hannah Kirby, Steve Bater, and Spencer James. If you have a question about a specific piece of content, you can contact the named author directly or reach the whole team via our contact page.

How we source our deals

We use three main methods to find the discounts and offers you see on this site:

1. Direct brand partnerships

The majority of deals on this site come directly from the brands and retailers themselves. Partners contact us with their current offers, discount codes, and the expiry date for each promotion. This means the information we publish — including the end date of a deal — comes straight from the source. Where a deal is genuinely NHS-exclusive or Blue Light Card exclusive, we label it clearly on the page.

2. Affiliate networks

We are registered members of several major UK affiliate networks, including Awin and others. These networks connect us with hundreds of retailers and give us access to current promotional codes and tracked links. Deals sourced through affiliate networks are subject to the same editorial standards as all other content on this site.

3. Manual research and reader tips

Our team also monitors retailer websites and social media to find deals worth sharing. We welcome tips from our readers and newsletter subscribers too. If you spot a deal we have missed, please get in touch and we will look into it.

How we publish deals

Because our deals come directly from brand partners, each offer is published with the expiry date provided by the retailer at the time it is shared with us. This means you can trust that the end date shown on a deal page is the date the brand has given us — it is not estimated or guessed.

Where a brand does not provide a specific expiry date, we note this on the page and advise checking directly with the retailer before relying on the offer.

How we keep deals up to date

Keeping hundreds of live deal pages current is a significant task, and we want to be honest about how we manage it.

We run an automated system that checks our deals daily and removes any offers that have passed their expiry date. This means that outdated deals are cleared from the site automatically without requiring manual intervention for every single listing.

When brands send us updated offers or replacements for expired deals, our editorial team publishes these as quickly as possible so there is always something current available.

Despite these measures, deals can occasionally be withdrawn by retailers before their stated expiry date, or terms can change without notice. If you encounter an offer that is no longer valid, please let us know and we will investigate. In most cases, the fastest resolution is to contact the retailer directly, since they control the terms of their own promotions.

Our commercial relationships and independence

NHS Discount Offers is a free service funded primarily through affiliate commissions. This means we may earn a small commission when you click a link on this site and subsequently make a purchase. This commission is paid by the retailer and does not affect the price you pay.

We want to be completely transparent about how this works:

  • Commercial relationships do not determine editorial coverage. We publish deals because they represent genuine value for NHS staff, not simply because a retailer has agreed to pay us a commission. We decline to feature deals that do not meet our standards regardless of whether a commercial agreement is in place.
  • Paid partnerships are labelled. Where a brand has paid for a featured placement on our site, this will be clearly indicated on the relevant page.
  • We may turn down deals. If a retailer approaches us with an offer we do not consider genuinely useful or good value for NHS staff, we will not publish it.

This affiliate model is what allows us to run NHS Discount Offers as a free service. We are committed to ensuring it never compromises the quality or honesty of what we publish.

Our standards for editorial content

Beyond deal pages, we also publish guides, articles, and advice content related to saving money as an NHS worker. The same editorial standards apply to all of it:

  • We only make claims we can support with evidence or direct experience.
  • We do not exaggerate savings figures.
  • We update guides when the underlying information changes — for example, when a retailer changes its NHS discount policy.
  • We correct factual errors promptly. If you spot something that is wrong, please contact us and we will review it.

What we are not

NHS Discount Offers is an independent website run by SJ Marketing Limited. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the NHS, the Department of Health and Social Care, or any NHS Trust. The word “NHS” in our name refers to the audience we serve, not any organisational relationship.

We are also not a financial advice service. Information published on this site about insurance, mortgages, or financial products is intended as general guidance to help you compare options, not as regulated financial advice.
