Cheapest 36 month Sky Mobile deal with 25GB+ data for each model when last checked; colour, storage, data plan and upfront cost shown are for that deal. Plan prices may change in line with Sky terms. New customers only, subject to availability at your postcode.
Sky Mobile runs on the O2 network and is currently one of the cheapest ways to get a big data allowance without paying for a handset. At the time of writing, 25GB starts at £10 a month on a 24-month SIM-only plan. The best Sky Mobile deals we’ve found are listed at the top of this page, and we update them as new offers come in.
The Best Sky Mobile Deals Right Now
Sky’s sharpest pricing is on its 24-month SIM-only plans, where you pay a reduced rate for the first year before it steps up. In October 2026 the line-up looked like this: 5GB for £6 a month, 25GB for £10, 75GB for £14 and unlimited data for £21. After 12 months those move to £10, £14, £22 and £25 respectively.
If you’d rather not sign up for two years, there are 30-day rolling plans too. They cost a bit more each month (25GB is £17 after a cheaper first month, unlimited is £28) but you can leave with 30 days’ notice. That suits anyone on a fixed-term post, a rotation or a bank contract who doesn’t know where they’ll be next year.
Sky also runs handset offers alongside its phone contracts. This month that includes a free Galaxy Watch8 with the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE and Pixel Buds 2a with the Google Pixel 10a, both claimed after purchase. These promotions are short, so check the dates before you order.
How Much Can NHS Staff Save?
It depends what you’re paying now. Plenty of people are still on an old phone contract that finished years ago, quietly paying the full monthly price for a handset that’s long been paid off. Moving to a 25GB Sky SIM at £10 a month from a £35 out-of-contract plan saves £300 in the first year alone.
Over the full 24 months, that 25GB plan works out at £288 in total. Unlimited data on the same terms comes to £552 across two years, which is still well below what most networks charge for unlimited on their standard prices.
How to Get the Deal
Pick a plan from the Sky Mobile offers listed at the top of this page.
Click through to Sky, choose your data allowance and whether you want a 24-month or 30-day plan.
To keep your number, text PAC to 65075 from your current phone. You’ll get a code back within a minute.
When the SIM arrives, activate it in your Sky account and enter the PAC code. Give it before 5pm on a weekday and the switch completes the next working day.
Make sure your phone is unlocked before you activate the SIM. Older handsets bought on contract are sometimes still locked to the original network, and that can take a few days to sort.
What You Get With Sky Mobile
The feature most people talk about is the Piggybank. Any data you don’t use by the end of the month rolls over, and you can dip into it later in 1GB chunks for up to 12 months. If your data use swings with your rota, busy on long days away from home and barely touched on weeks spent on hospital Wi-Fi, that stored data takes the edge off a heavy month. It doesn’t apply to unlimited plans, which is worth knowing before you pay for more than you need.
You can also change your data allowance whenever you like. Moving down takes effect the following month. One catch: if you’re on a discounted first-year price, changing plan loses that offer, so it pays to pick the right allowance at the start.
Other extras include roaming in 120 destinations for £2 a day (free for Sky VIP Diamond members), Wi-Fi calling for wards and basements where signal drops out, and the ability to stream Sky apps without using your allowance if you already have Sky TV. Up to seven SIMs can sit on one account and share rolled-over data, which helps if you’re sorting phones for the whole household.
Because Sky uses O2’s masts, coverage is identical to O2’s. If you already get good signal on O2 or on another O2-based network like giffgaff or Tesco Mobile, you’ll get the same with Sky.
Is It Worth It?
For SIM-only, the 24-month deals are strong value, especially in the first year. The thing to watch is the price rise in year two and the fact that Sky can increase prices during the minimum term. Work out the full two-year cost rather than looking at the headline monthly figure.
If you want a new handset on contract, it’s worth putting Sky’s price side by side with the O2 offers for NHS staff, since both run on the same network, and the Vodafone NHS discount on pay monthly plans. Sky’s Swap scheme, which lets you trade up to a new phone after 31 days provided the old one covers what’s left, is the main reason to go with them for a handset.
Tips to Keep Costs Down
Check your actual data use in your phone settings before choosing. Most people use far less than they think.
Avoid unlimited unless you really need it. You lose the Piggybank and pay more every month.
Set a reminder for month 12, when the introductory price ends, and again before month 24 so you don’t roll onto a higher rate.
Set your spend cap before a holiday. The £2 roaming charge isn’t part of your plan, so a week away needs £14 of headroom.
Keep your current phone if it’s working well. SIM-only is almost always cheaper than a new handset contract.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do NHS staff get the best Sky Mobile deal?
Start with the offers listed at the top of this page, which we keep updated with Sky’s current best prices. The 24-month SIM-only plans usually give the lowest monthly cost, with reduced pricing for the first 12 months.
What network does Sky Mobile use?
Sky Mobile runs on O2’s 4G and 5G network, so coverage and signal are the same as O2’s. You can check your postcode on Sky’s coverage checker before ordering.
Do I need Sky TV or broadband to join Sky Mobile?
No. Anyone can take a Sky Mobile plan. Existing Sky TV customers get a few extras, such as streaming Sky apps without using data, but the SIM deals are open to everyone.
What is the Sky Mobile Piggybank?
It stores any data you don’t use each month so you can use it later, in 1GB amounts, for up to 12 months. It isn’t available on unlimited data plans.
Can I keep my number if I switch to Sky Mobile?
Yes. Text PAC to 65075 to get your switching code, then enter it when you activate your Sky SIM. If you give it before 5pm on a weekday, your number moves over the next working day.
