Virgin Holidays doesn’t publish an NHS-only rate on its own website, but that doesn’t mean you have to pay full whack. Between the sale deposits, the family flight discounts and the hotel deals already baked into package prices, a well-timed booking can knock a few hundred pounds off. Any NHS codes and exclusive offers we have are listed at the top of this page, and we keep them updated.
Virgin Holidays or Virgin Atlantic Holidays?
Same company. Virgin Holidays now trades as Virgin Atlantic Holidays and bookings run through virginatlantic.com, though most people still call it by the old name. It’s been selling package holidays since 1985 and its real strength is long-haul: Florida, New York, Las Vegas, the Caribbean and Mexico, with the Maldives, Thailand, Dubai and South Africa on the list too. You fly with Virgin Atlantic, and every package is ATOL and ABTA protected.
Is There an NHS Discount at Virgin Holidays?
Not directly. There’s no NHS verification step at checkout and no healthcare worker rate on the booking pages. When NHS codes do appear, they usually come with a minimum spend and a short booking window, so they suit a bigger long-haul trip more than a three-night city break.
That’s why we track them for you. If there’s an NHS code running, you’ll find it at the top of this page with the terms spelled out. If there isn’t, the deals below are still worth having. Some of them beat a typical NHS code by a distance.

We checked these in September 2026, during Virgin’s September sale. Dates move, so treat the end dates as a guide and check the offers at the top of the page for what’s live now.
- £75pp deposit on sale bookings made by 30 September 2026. Exclusions apply and the balance is due 84 days before departure.

How Much Can NHS Staff Save?
Picture a family of four going to Orlando. The flight discount on its own takes £210 off: two adults at £60, two kids at £45. Choose Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort, where you currently stay seven nights and pay for six, and the resort fee is waived too. That fee normally runs to more than $39 a night. Over a fortnight, you’re looking at a proper saving before you’ve even thought about a code.
Couples heading further afield tend to get the most from the hotel offers. Several Maldives and Caribbean resorts in the current sale show accommodation savings of 25% to 50%, and Palladium and Royalton hotels in Mexico and Grenada take £200 off per booking until the end of September. Those discounts are already in the price you see.
Can you stack an NHS code on top? Sometimes. Virgin says some offers can’t be combined, so read the code terms before you pay.
How to Claim the Discount

- Search your destination, airport and dates, then compare a few hotels. Look out for sale, free night and resort fee labels.
- Enter any code at the payment stage, before you pay the deposit.
- Set up Direct Debit if you’d rather spread the balance monthly.

Booking Around Rotas and Annual Leave
Shift work makes holiday planning a pain. Leave gets signed off late, swaps fall through, and by the time you can book, the good rooms have gone. Two things take the edge off.
The low deposit is the first. Paying £75 each up front means you can grab a price the day your leave is approved, then chip away at the rest by Direct Debit. The second is going off-peak. If you’re not tied to school holidays, don’t pay school holiday prices. Virgin’s own figures show November trips from £630pp, while summer 2027 in Orlando starts at £1,107pp. Same sunshine, shorter queues.

Florida and Disney Holidays
Orlando is where Virgin Holidays really earns its keep. Right now, Universal Orlando hotels are up to 30% off for stays of five nights or more before 15 March 2027, and you’ve got until 18 February 2027 to book. Caribe Royale gives you the 7th, 10th and 14th nights free with free parking and park transport, and Coco Key throws in a free 7th night plus $50 of food and drink credit.
Tied to term dates? Virgin’s 2027 school holiday prices start at £740pp for February half-term, £788pp for Easter and £849pp for May half-term. Book those early, because they’re the first to go. Is It Worth It?
For a week in Spain or Greece, probably not. You’ll usually do better with the TUI Holidays for Heroes NHS discount or the Jet2 Holidays NHS discount, both of which have codes for healthcare staff.
Long-haul is a different story. Flights are the biggest cost, and Virgin knocks money off them in a way you can’t get booking separately. Add the ATOL cover, in-resort support and the option to pay monthly, and it’s a strong choice for Florida, the Caribbean and the US. Just don’t assume the first price you see is the best one. Compare hotels, because the offers vary a lot from one to the next.
Tips to Keep Costs Down
- Book in a sale. The September sale is running now, and the January sale is traditionally the big one.
- Join Flying Club. It’s free, and you earn Virgin Points you can put towards a future holiday or flight.
- Pick hotels with free nights or waived resort fees. In the US, resort fees can add hundreds to a two-week stay.
- Travel in November, early December or January if leave allows. Prices drop noticeably.
- Buy travel insurance separately rather than adding it at checkout. It’s often cheaper.
- Book the Heathrow lounge offer on Cancun, Phuket or Seoul trips while it lasts. It’s a nice start after a run of nights.
