APH is one of the better options out there for NHS staff needing airport parking. They offer a straight 15% off their own branded car parks, and the discount gets applied automatically. No code, no faff. If you’ve ever wasted time hunting for a voucher code at checkout, you’ll appreciate that.
What is the APH NHS Discount?
APH (Airport Parking & Hotels) run car parks at major UK airports including Gatwick, Heathrow Airport, Manchester, Stansted, Birmingham, Cardiff, Aberdeen and Luton. For NHS staff they offer:
- 15% off APH branded car parks. This applies to their own sites at the airports listed above.
- Up to 10% off other car parks listed on their site.
- Up to 10% off airport hotel and parking packages. Handy if you’ve got an early flight and want to stay nearby the night before.
It’s worth noting the 15% only applies to APH’s own branded car parks. For other operators listed on their site the saving drops to 10%, which is still decent, but worth checking before you book.
How do I use the APH NHS Discount?
Just use the link on this page. It takes you straight to the NHS-specific APH booking page and the discount is applied automatically. You don’t need a code and you don’t need to prove you’re NHS at the point of booking.
Search for your airport, pick your dates, choose your car park and the NHS price will already be showing. It’s one of the more straightforward NHS deals we’ve come across, with no hoops to jump through.
Can I use the NHS discount for more than just parking?
Yes. APH also do hotel and parking packages, so if you’re flying early and want to stay near the airport the night before, you can bundle that in and still get the NHS discount. It’s up to 10% off those packages rather than 15%, but it can still take a decent chunk off an overnight stay plus parking.
If you want to compare APH against other options, Holiday Extras is worth checking too. They also offer NHS discounts on parking across most UK airports.
Is APH any good?
They’ve won Best Airport Parking Company at the British Travel Awards more than once, which counts for something. Their car parks are monitored 24/7 with CCTV, and they run shuttle buses to the terminals. The transfers are generally reliable, though like anything at busy airports, peak times can mean a short wait.
The main thing most people care about is price and peace of mind. APH ticks both. You’re not leaving your car on some random industrial estate, and with the NHS discount the price is competitive with most other options.
Heathrow and Gatwick
These are APH’s busiest locations and tend to have the best availability. If you’re flying from Heathrow or Gatwick, book as early as you can. Prices creep up the closer you get to your travel date, and spaces at on-airport or close-proximity car parks do fill up during school holidays. The NHS price holds regardless of when you book, but the base rate you’re discounting from will be lower if you book early.
