Bristol Airport Parking NHS Discount

Bristol Airport is the main airport for the south west of England, serving around 10 million passengers a year. It’s compact and easy to navigate compared to bigger airports, but parking still needs a bit of planning if you want to get a decent price.

Do NHS staff get a discount on Bristol Airport parking?

Yes, though not directly through the airport. The most reliable NHS discount for Bristol Airport parking comes through Holiday Extras and APH, both of which list Bristol among their covered airports. Purple Parking also offer around 12% off for NHS staff. Holiday Extras is generally worth checking first as they list multiple operators, so you can compare prices across different car parks in one place.

What parking options are available at Bristol Airport?

Bristol is smaller than most major UK airports so the options are fairly straightforward.

  • Short stay — directly beside the terminal, straightforward to use but priced accordingly. Generally better suited to picking someone up or a quick overnight trip.
  • Long stay — a short shuttle bus ride from the terminal, typically 5-10 minutes. Noticeably cheaper than short stay for anything over a couple of days and the shuttle is frequent enough not to be an inconvenience.
  • Meet and greet — you drive to the terminal, someone takes your car and returns it on collection day. A good option if you are travelling as a family with pushchairs or heavy bags and want to avoid dragging everything on a bus.
  • Off-airport car parks — smaller private operators nearby. Can work out cheapest for longer stays, particularly when you compare through a site like Holiday Extras and book a few weeks ahead.

How to get the best price on Bristol Airport parking

Book early. Bristol parking prices go up the closer you get to your travel date and spaces in the on-site car parks do fill up, particularly in summer. Booking a few weeks in advance with your NHS discount applied will get you a significantly better rate than leaving it to the last minute.

Bristol Airport also runs its own email newsletter and occasionally offers discounts on parking to subscribers, though these tend to be less consistent than deals through third-party providers. If you’re a regular Bristol flyer it’s worth signing up, but for most people comparison sites are the more reliable route to savings.

A few things worth knowing about Bristol Airport

Bristol is a single-terminal airport which keeps things simple on the day. Security can get busy during peak times, particularly on early morning departures when several flights leave close together. If you’re on a 6am or 7am flight, factor in extra time for security and bag drop.

The airport is located about 8 miles south west of Bristol city centre, just off the A38. There’s no direct rail link, so if you’re not driving you’ll need to use the Bristol Flyer coach service from Bristol city centre. If you’re planning a longer trip, our NHS holiday discounts page covers a wide range of travel deals beyond just parking.
